About the Author
Christian Erber is one of the world's most knowledgeable collectors of suzanis, having built his collection with his wife Dietlinde over many years, their collection forming the foundation of Suzani: Art of the Silk Road. Penny Oakley is a specialist in Islamic embroidery, with a particular focus on Anatolian and Caucasian textile traditions. She is also the author of Stars of the Caucasus: Silk Embroideries from Azerbaijan. Markus Voigt is a scholar of carpets and textiles, and a contributing editor to HALI magazine. His expertise spans from Turkmen weaving and the historic trade connections between Tibet and Central Asia.
