The San Francisco Tribal & Textile Arts Show celebrates its 30th anniversary at the Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason Center, from 18-21 February 2016. Started by the late Bill Caskey and Liz Lees, and still run by Lees and her vastly experienced team, SF Tribal is the USA’s most influential annual gathering of international dealers, collectors, designers and aficionados of world ethnographic arts.

This year, some 80 leading galleries, many from outside the USA, will be vetted by a team of in-fair experts to ensure authenticity and quality. They will present materials from the Far East, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Central and South America, Africa, Oceania and Polynesia. Over the years SF Tribal participants have earned a reputation for exhibiting rare and unique pieces within the field.

The 2016 special invitational exhibition in the foyer at the Festival Pavilion is ‘Don’t Miss INDIA!’, a display of photographs of India and Indian textiles curated by Bay Area dealer Tom Cole. Spanning the entire subcontinent, the exhibition focuses on the everyday beauty of India.
