The Dorotheum in Vienna, one of the oldest of Europe's leading auction rooms, holds regular Spring and Autumn sales of Oriental carpets, textiles and tapestries under the expertise of Wolfgang Matschek, and carpets are also included in less specialised sales both in Vienna and in the company's provincial salerooms in cities such as Linz. This Spring, a Linz sale on 16 May 2013 includes a small group of rugs, while Herr Matschek's main sale at the Palais Dorotheum on Monday 27 May, offers more than 200 lots.
