This week has been dedicated to our work on books, with one book printed about flatweaves, the final colour details being checked for a London art event, and one long-term project on a private collection of Balinese textiles being signed off ready for print. All of these will appear on hali.com in a few months, so please sign up to our newsletter to keep in touch.
HALI 229 is in production, with articles on a collection of Kerman carpets, Rabat embroidered curtains, an exhibition of recently discovered early woollen fragments in China, the new museum openings in Uzbekistan, and ground-breaking research on the dating of Turkmen carpets.
On hali.com, new exhibitions will be covered in Houston and Washington, various voices will discuss the Embroidery Traditions of Afghanistan exhibition at SOAS, drawn from the Karun Thakar collection, and the complete back archive of articles from our previous website will start to appear.
