Mohammad Tehrani opens new gallery in Hamburg
Mohammad Tehrani and his wife Sabine are the principals of one of the best respected and currently most successful antique oriental carpet dealerships in Europe. They have just opened a new gallery at Alstertor 20 in Ecke Ballindam in the centre of Hamburg , while their old gallery in Neue Gröningerstrasse is now closed.
An active an reliable source of antique carpets of all genres, over the past few years the softly-spoken Tehrani, with the co-operation of leading collectors such as Hans-Christian Sienknecht and Annette & Volker Rautenstengel, has built an important specialised constituency among collectors of Turkmen carpets through his generous hosting in the old gallery of special non-commercial loan exhibitions to accompany the annual Turkmen collectors meeting held in the City. We wish the Tehranis every success in their capacious new space, which was formerly occupied by the veteran Hamburg dealer Hans Eitzenberger, who has now retired from the rug business.
