The Antique Rug & Textile Art Association (ARTAA) presents — ARTS, the annual Antique Rug & Textile Show at the Motel Capri in the Marina District of San Francisco, 17-20 October, 2013.
ARTS is the largest US show with a focus exclusively on authentic antique rugs and textiles from weaving cultures from across the world and a highlight of the year for American rug enthusiasts. Now in its fifth year, the show will include 40 international dealers, an exhibition of antique Persian and Anatolian saddle bags from private collections and several public events including tours and seminars.
This year the special exhibition will include antique pile and flatwoven complete saddle bag sets, ‘Khorjin and Heybe’, from Turkey and Iran. The exhibition hopes to give a more complete picture of these collectible antique weavings and present a better understanding of how they were woven and utilised across the pre-industrial Near East.
