Light on Persia exhibition at Thomas Cole

An exhibition of tribal weavings from northwest and south Persia will be on show at the private gallery of HALI Contributing Editor, Thomas Cole. Light on Persia can be viewed in San Rafael, just a short drive north of the Golden Gate Bridge in California’s Marin County, from 14 October – 1 December 2014. There will be an opening reception 18 October 5.30- 10 pm.

The exhibition is mainly of knotted pile bag faces with a few rugs and one kilim. The theme is all about colour and beauty as these weavings from the tribal groups of Persia are renowned for their elegant patterning accentuated by a saturated palette.
