In addition to extended discussions that are too long to appear in full in the magazine itself, such as the lively exchanges between the review and authors of a recent work on the Qaraqalpaq of the Aral Delta, or the extended and fully referenced versions of Michael Franses’ HALI articles on  aspects of the classical Indian, Safavid Persian, Spanish and East Mediterranean carpet collections at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar, the archive also includes a growing body of facsimiles of articles from hard-to-access earlier volumes of the magazine. These include discussion of aspects of the carpet collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London (by Donald King, Michael Franses & Robert Pinner), and at the Musée Historique des Tissus in Lyon, France (by Ian Bennett). There are also selected items of specialist interest, including a users guide to the carbon-dating of antique textiles, and a study of Safavid hunting carpets by the late Christine Klose.
