17 March 2006 Jagdish Banga has worked in India producing dhurries since the seventies. Celebrating the skills of the weavers and a commitment to fair trade were always of utmost importance to him. He used handspun Indian wool dyed with natural dyes and only worked on small production runs unlike most of his contemporaries in India. He has now retired and closed his workshop but the Nomads Tent in Edinburgh are holding a selling exhibition of his work entitled 'A Passion for Quality: One man and Indian flatwoven rugs' in April 2006.
