To celebrate the arrival of spring and Persian New Year, Naw Ruz, the Burrell in Glasgow will be displaying its prized but rarely seen Wagner Garden Carpet for a few days in March/April. This Persian 17th-century garden carpet, which has a full-bloom flora and teeming fauna design inspired by the heavenly Garden of Eden, is believed to be the second most important in the UK after the V&A’s Ardabil. A free public programme of events and activities accompanies this display, including daily introduction talks.
